Lola A Hurlburt

Lola A Hurlburt, age 87, of Durand. Peacefully died on February 3rd, 2024 at Plum city Care Center, in Plum City, WI.

Lola was born on October 21st, 1936, in the town of Maxville, Buffalo County. She was the daughter of James M & Edna B (Hill) Hurlburt.

Lola graduated on 7/11/1950 from the Seventh day Adventist Elementary School. She graduated in 1954 from Durand High School. She worked for a short time at St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. From there she graduated from Beauty & Charm School and Airline Career Training at Central Technical Institute, Kansas City, MO. Lola worked for Western Airlines from 11/23/1959 to 3/31/1987 and Delta Airlines from 4/1/1987 until her retirement on 10/31/1993.

Lola enjoyed traveling all over the world, spending time with family and friends, playing cards, quilting, tatting, stained glass, clogging and canning.  She could be counted on to lend a helping hand to her family and friends whenever necessary. 

Lola is survived by 2 brothers, Glenn of Durand WI, and Horace (Carol) of Eau Galle WI and 1 sister Lana Odegard of Eau Galle, WI, 1 sister-in-law Joan Hurlburt and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews & many friends.  She is preceded in death her parents, James M & Edna B (Hill) Hurlburt, Claire (Florence), Perry (Frances), Vivus (Mary Lou), Hugh (Claire), Orval, nieces and nephews.

Prayer Services will be 3:30PM Friday, February 9, 2024 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand. Visitation will be from 4:00PM-6:00PM Friday, February 9, 2024 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Orton Room at the Corral Bar & Grill in Durand from 6:00pm-8:00PM Friday, February 9, 2024.
