Lillian M. Roberts

Lillian M. Roberts age 87, of Menomonie, passed away on Friday February 23, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Cedar in Menomonie.

Lillian was born September 30, 1936, in Stone Lake, WI.  She was the daughter of Leo and Opal (Spexet) Stoeklen, Sr.  Lillian was raised mostly in Spooner and Menomonie.  She attended school in Elmwood. Lilliam married John Brennan and they had four children. They lived in Alaska, Nebraska and then made their home in the Weston area of Menomonie where they farmed until 1988.  In 1988, they moved to Menomonie and later divorced.  Lillian later married Jim Roberts and they made their home in Menomonie.

Lillian loved quilting, and she gave many away as gifts to family and friends.  She also loved gardening, cooking. and reading.  Her family was especially important to her, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lillian is survived by her daughters, Rosemary Conder of Menomonie; Patricia Brennan of Sauk City; three grandchildren, Jessica Conder of Gates, TN, Stephanie (Jamie) Westling of Prairie Farm, Taylor Brennan of Sauk City; 10 great grandchildren; three brothers, William (Evelyn) Stoeklen, Kenneth (Doris) Stoeklen and Leonard Stoeklen; one sister, Elsie Anderson; a sister-in-law, Debbie Stoeklen,  several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, two sons, Michael and Ron; two great grandson, Luke and John; four brothers, Tom, Joe, John and Leo Jr.; sisters-in-law, Aloisia Stoeklen, Faith Stoeklen and Norma Stoeklen.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

    I am sorry for your loss. I didn't meet Lillian but she is a relative of mine though my great grandfather Paul Spexet.

    Heaven gained a wonderful person. She was needed in heaven, so many people she loves is there. Say Hi to Jim and my dad and mom for me Lillian. I will miss the phone calls.
